A USED Caterpillar Engine is typically sold in the same condition that it was when it was removed from the machine, with little to no internal inspection – typically the sump is removed to check the bottom end of the engine, however no other inspections, testing, or replacement of worn components is carried out.
This can present a lower upfront cost, however its remaining lifespan and reliability are often unknown and cannot be guaranteed.
However, a RECONDITIONED Caterpillar Engine has been fully stripped, inspected, cleaned and Rebuilt by qualified technicians. All worn and damaged parts are removed and either repaired to Cat Spec, or replaced with high quality components to guarantee quality and performance. All our Reconditioned Engines are bench tested before sale to ensure they meet Caterpillar Specifications.
